Who:  All Registered Cub Scouts and their Families.  This is a family event and all Scouts must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.


Cost:  $25 per youth and $10 per adult


What:  This is a program day designed to give Scouts and their families some outside    adventures.  The program will be ‘Northwoods Science’  Where you will find out about all of the trees, plants, rocks and animals of the        Northwoods. 


Camping:  Tent camping will be available for those wishing to arrive the night   before or stay the night after.  You will need to reserve this camping at the time you make your reservation.  Tents will be provided, but you will need to bring your own sleeping bag and sleeping pad.  Cost for camping is $5 per person, per night and does include a continental breakfast the next morning.  There is no program provided Friday or Saturday night.


Tips for a successful stay:

· Register online.  Make sure to make your reservation for the event.  We need to plan our food and program supplies for those attending.

· Bring your completed Health and Medical Record.

· Buddy System—it is imperative that all participants follow the buddy system at all times while at Northern Tier.  All youth and adults should have a buddy!

· Communicate any special diet needs prior to arrival.  This information will be requested during your registration process.

· Where appropriate outdoor clothing – be prepared to get dirty!  If you have your uniform, plan to wear it for dinner and flags, but we will not where uniforms while in program.  You will get messy!

· Where sturdy outdoor, closed-toed, closed-heeled shoes.  There will be hiking involved and you will want your feet protected and comfortable all day long.

· Bring a rain jacket – the show will go on – rain or shine!

· Bring a water bottle – its important to stay hydrated!


Northern Tier National High Adventure

Get Your Feet Wet in High Adventure

Northern Tier is offering a “Get Your Feet Wet” Program, 4 day Wilderness Canoe Trips for Parent/Scout Pairs new to Wilderness Adventure. Each trip includes full outfitting (food, crew gear, canoes, PFDs, paddles, and permits) as well as a highly trained staff member, called an Interpreter. Parent/Scout pairs will be introduced to the fundamental skills and pleasures of wilderness canoe camping.

Participating Scouts must be at least 11 years of age, a registered Scout and must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Cost:  $200 per Pair
