What Jobs are Available at Northern Tier?

Northern Tier hires a large group of trail staff and base staff to support our mission of providing wilderness experiences that last a life time. Read more about each below

                                                                                           Trail Staff

Our Trail staff consist of  “interpreters” who are U.S. Forest Service guides that provide a majority of the programming at Northern Tier. Trail Staff spend most of their time at Northern Tier in the wilderness guiding crews of scouts on wilderness canoeing treks and winter backcountry trips. Through our training program, Trail staff learn the skills needed to safely traverse the boreal forest in summer or winter and to teach scouts these skills as well

                                                                                          Base Staff

Our Base staff is the staff that keeps our base camp running smooth. These staff positions include our trading post, kitchen, outfitting, and maintenance. While working on base, staff have the chance to explore the Ely area in their free time
