Skiing Expeditions
The Charles L. Sommers Wilderness Canoe Base offers kilometers of cross-country ski trails ready for you to explore! This program is terrific even for the beginning skier. Each crew will pull their gear along on a sled to a remote campsite. From there you may build shelters, take day trips, ice fish, learn skiing and snowshoeing techniques, and enjoy the pristine winter wilderness. Crews will also enjoy a dogsled ride as part of their Okpik winter adventure.
